In 2024, our Community Cookery School & Community Kitchen teams are looking for new volunteers to help us scale up our fight against food poverty and support the growth of our organisation across the UK. We have a variety of volunteer roles to choose from, both in-person and remote, and can cater for a range of skills, locations, and availability.
In-person volunteer roles are available in the North West (including all 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester), the North East (Newcastle and Sunderland) and London & South East (including Lewisham and all areas of Essex), and include:
- Meal Distribution (North West only) – support us with the daily distribution of meals to partner foodbanks and sheltered accommodation sites from our Community Kitchen. You will need a full UK driving license and access to a car.
- Events (North West only) – help with events & fundraising from the Community Kitchen in Altrincham
- Cookery Workshop and Learning Programme Delivery (all areas) – help us deliver our growing range of cookery workshops and learning programmes, such as Community Cooking with Surplus Food, or our Live Well programme.
Remote volunteer roles are flexible and can be done from any location. They include:
- Recipe Development & Testing – help us with content creation & recipe development for the Let’s Cook section of our website (our online platform for recipes, cooking tips & budgeting advice).
- Use your personal skills – do you have useful professional skills you could use to support our organisation (e.g. marketing, networking, fundraising, graphic design, video editing, SEO etc)?
If you have further questions, we will be hosting an online Volunteer Q+A session prior to the application deadline (date TBC) to cover any queries. Alternatively, you can always contact us here or via our social media channels (@bouncebackfood).
Applications close 19th January. Sign up via our application form.
We look forward to hearing from you!
