It’s been a busy start to the year at our Community Cookery School!
Firstly, thank you to everyone who’s responded to our nationwide call for volunteers. It was heartwarming to see that so many people share our ambition of fighting food poverty on multiple fronts – we’re now in the process of creating the necessary resources and training opportunities to make this a reality.
Thank you to everyone who’s shared details of this year’s Social Enterprise Internship too. This will be the 5th year that we’ve run the programme and once again we’re welcoming applicants from around the world. Applications close on March 31st at 5pm, please continue to share details with anyone you know who may be interested in joining our central team this summer.
There’s also still time to apply for our inaugural Food Poverty Innovation Award! The winner will receive a £250 cash grant, start up support and mentoring from our central team to help them tackle food poverty in their community. Please encourage early stage social entrepreneurs, community groups and charities in your network to apply by 31st May at 5pm. You can find out more and apply here.
This month, our team has been busy delivering cookalongs on behalf of young people in North Wales and learning programmes both in-person and online for beneficiaries in central Manchester. We’re committed to scaling up our social impact and also continue to develop other resources, such as our online Cooking & Nutrition Portal, to ensure that we can provide effective support to people both in-person and online.
We’d also like to thank everyone who’s been listening to the second series of our podcast, Share Your Secrets. Be sure to listen and subscribe – there’s now 20+ episodes to enjoy for free anytime, anywhere on all major podcast platforms!
You can also keep up to date with the development of our Community Cookery School across all major social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & LinkedIn.
