Incredible news – we’ve reached our Summer Holiday Hunger campaign target! Thanks to generous philanthropic donations and an amazing grant of £18,750 from The Access Foundation, we have managed to raise £50,000 before our crowdfunding deadline.
This funding means the world to us and is vital to help us rapidly expand the support we can provide this summer. The holidays can be an extremely difficult time for families, particularly those where children are usually in receipt of Free School Meals. With this £50,000 fund, we will now be able to run five Summer Holiday Cooking Clubs across Greater Manchester and Essex for children and families, distribute 2,000 additional meals to vulnerable people, and grow our Community Cookery School with vital new equipment and programmes.
You can find more information about our public Summer Holiday Clubs here.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported our campaign, from donating online, purchasing our crowdfunding rewards, or taking the time to pay for one of our ‘Buy One, Give One’ Community Kitchen meals through the campaign page. Every single donation will have a massive impact on the support we are able to provide this summer.
An enormous thank you must also go to our many generous corporate supporters, in particular The Access Group Foundation who provided us with a grant of £18,750, and Aviva Community Fund who doubled all donations for the first part of our campaign. Alongside this, we are hugely grateful to Howdens Insurance Altrincham for their help organising our biggest fundraiser event, TNS Catering for collaborating with us on a successful fundraising catering day, and our long-term partners Marmalade Marketing who have supported a team across the board this year. A final thank you goes to the team at Altrincham BID who have backed and massively helped us spread the word about our campaign.
Thanks to this exciting news, we have now updated our campaign with a stretch target of £75,000 to help make an even bigger impact this summer. Additional funding will enable our Bounceback Community Cookery School Teams to deliver more cookery workshops and learning programmes in community centres & faith spaces during the summer period and into the rest of 2024 – providing further meals and essential skills to those most in need across the UK.
