Baked beans are a staple in any household and while they offer high amounts of protein, shop bought brands also have much more sugar/salt than you think. This easy recipe is full of smoky flavour and will make you think twice about staying brand loyal!
1 | stick of celery, finely chopped |
2 | garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped/crushed |
1 tsp | smoked paprika |
300g | passata |
1 tbsp | tomato purée |
1 tbsp | olive oil/cooking spray |
400g | tinned haricot beans, drained |
4. Add the beans, stir frequently and simmer for a further 10 minutes then serve!
Sprinkle grated cheese on top to garnish! Serve on toast/bread bun.
