It’s the first full week of our reverse advent calendar and today the item is porridge oats!
It would be great if you could pick up an extra bag of porridge oats on your weekly shop and donate them to your local foodbank.

And have a go at making our tasty chocolate and banana porridge recipe:
Ingredients
80g rolled oats |
100ml milk |
1 tsp (heaped) cocoa powder |
1 banana, sliced |
1 handful fresh fruit (choose based on what’s in season but pears, strawberries and strawberries all work well) |
Method
- Put the oats, cocoa powder, milk and half the sliced banana in a microwaveable bowl. Mix well.
- Microwave this mixture for 2 minutes (stirring halfway through) or until the milk has been absorbed into the oats.
- Take the bowl out the microwave and top with the rest of the sliced banana and fresh fruit of your choice.
