We made it! Thank you so much to everyone who’s pledged, shared the page and helped us to hit our target within 3 weeks of launching the campaign.
We now have the funding required to commission the 20 superb artists, representing Greater Manchester, Cheshire & North Wales, to complete the 20 original pieces of art that will accompany recipes from 20 different countries in Secret dishes from around the world 2. Our aim is to publish the book this November – it will be available via all major book retailers and also via our online store, just like book 1.
In the 2 remaining weeks of the campaign, any additional funding pledged will help to grow our non-profit community cookery school so that we can support more and more communities in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and North Wales. In these uncertain times, the support we offer people living in food poverty will be needed more than ever. Specifically, extra funding will enable us to:
– Purchase new equipment to help us deliver more cookery workshops and learning programmes when it is safe to resume.
– Hire additional members of staff so we can support foodbanks and people living in food poverty across the UK and in different countries on a more regular basis. We’ll be outlining how we intend to do this in our Coronavirus Response, which will be published tomorrow.
– Produce the equivalent eBook and audiobook so that Secret dishes from around the world 2 can reach new audiences and help raise additional funds for our organisation.
If you’re in a financial position to be able to support our campaign it will be running until Sunday 5th April at midday! Here’s the link:

Over the next few months we will be doing everything we can to help as many people as possible with the proactive approach to fighting food poverty that has defined the development of our community cookery school since day 1. Thank you for your continued support!
