Here's what the Bounceback Food team have been up to!

What’s On in April

Posted on

After a whirlwind of community events and our menu launch in March, this April we’re focusing on developing and expanding our cookery workshops and learning programmes. Want to support our work? Check out what’s on this month and how you can get involved…

Community Cooking with Surplus Food

This month, we are taking our fun, free Community Cooking with Surplus Food workshops to four new boroughs of Greater Manchester! Pilot workshops will be running across Salford, Tameside, Oldham, and Manchester (Levenshulme), as well as continuing monthly in Trafford.

These classes are open to everyone, no matter your ability. Each week we make a ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’ style recipe out of surplus food provided by The Bread and Butter Thing project to help reduce food waste and tackle social isolation.

If you’d like to join the class in your area, you can sign up on a weekly basis via Eventbrite.

NEW Community Kitchen Spring/Summer Menu

That’s right, we’ve launched a brand new Spring/Summer menu at our Manchester Community Kitchen! Our “Buy One, Give One” options now include a full Kids menu, new toasties, and best of all, All-Day Brunch.

One thing hasn’t changed though. For every meal you buy, you continue to fund one for someone living in food poverty in Greater Manchester. Thanks to your support so far, our kitchen distributes at least 300-400 meals across 12 partner sites every week.

Come down and try our huge focaccia brunch sandwiches, plus our full range of healthy curries, salads, soups, and sides all day Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-3pm. You know you want to!

Volunteering Opportunities

Looking for ways to give back to your community this Spring? Why not join us a volunteer?

We are always looking for new and enthusiastic volunteers to help us with meal distribution, in-person events, online recipe development, or any other professional skills you can share with our growing social enterprise. To become part of our team, simply fill out our application form and we will be in touch if we have a role to fit your skills and availability.

We also offer corporate volunteering opportunities. Please enquire via our Corporate Partnerships form.

Roll on April!
