As we finish the first week of our book tour, we just want to take the time to thank the fantastic organisations which we have visited and the artists who we worked with along the way!
We kicked off the week at the picturesque Altrincham Market. Bounceback first started out as a market stall, so to stand at our stall selling all three of our cookbooks was a proud moment!
We then visited the great Gap Arts at their incredible space in Birmingham and got to meet Bayan, whose artwork for the book was displayed on the wall.
Next up was Cardiff, with the lovely folks at the Women’s Art Association Wales, whose artists have several pieces displayed in Secret Dishes From Around the World 3!
A stop in Bristol followed, where we had lunch at the Cafe Kino, followed by a trip to Taunton and The Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre to see the talented BLACK* Artists on the Move show ‘History is Now!’
London was the next stage for us, where we met Thomas from ActionSpace who produced the artwork for Croatia in the book. Not only did we get to have lunch at Brigade bar and kitchen, but also got to interview Simon Boyle for the next season of our podcast!
We also stopped by Borough Market to show our support for Change Please and grab some much-needed coffees.
On Thursday, we swung by Brighton to meet Richard, our collaborating artist from Rocket Artists in the Open Market and also got the chance to see the fantastic studio space that they have down there.
Finally, Friday gave us the chance to start heading North again to celebrate with Arty-Folks in Coventry and Pedestrian in Leicester! An ideal end to a very busy week.
Again, we want to extend sincere thanks to everyone we have met this week; it’s been a pleasure to meet you all.
Keep your eyes peeled for updates on this blog for week 2!
