Parsnips

The cornerstone of any roast dinner. This low-maintenance grow is one for every garden!

Parsnips can
be sown in spring and read to harvest in autumn. Sow three seeds at 15 cm
intervals, 13 mm deep in rows and 30 cm in between rows. Once the seedlings are
large enough to handle (2.5 cm high), plant them in an open, sunny site. Separate
each seedling and plant them 15 cm apart.

Top tips

– Keep the soil free of weeds. Hand weed close
to the roots to avoid damage.

– Ensure that the soil is evenly moist to
avoid splitting.

– Tastes great in roast dinners, stews and
casseroles!
